Morbihan (56) is a french department located in Brittany, which owes its name to the Gulf of Morbihan, the Breton name meaning "little sea, mor, sea and bihan, kid. It corresponds mainly to the kingdom, then became bailiff of County Broërec and formerly the city of Venice.
Morbihan is the only department to have kept french name that has not been altered by the French language and is the only department with a non-french names.
